National skill competition

Kathmandu, June 15.

National Skill Competition-2079 has been completed in collaboration with the project organization and Skilling Nepal Foundation. Narayan Prasad Pandey on the men’s side and Rosi Ghartimar on the women’s side have won the first place in the competition in which nearly 70 youths from all over the country participated. Pandey and Ghartimagar received Rs 25,000 cash, certificates and medals along with being the first in the competition.

Likewise, Vinod Tharu and Sujan Prasain are second and third in men’s side, while Sharmila Mahat and Rupa Thapa are third in women’s side. The second and third runners-up were awarded certificates and medals along with cash of Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.

Minister of State for Education, Science and Technology Bodhamaya Kumari Yadav said that the knowledge, skills and abilities of the youth should be used for the development of the country.

Speaking at the closing program of the ‘National Skills Competition-2079’ organized today by the Second Vocational Education and Training Enhancement Project (Event) under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Skilling Nepal Foundation, he said that the knowledge, skills and abilities of the youth should be used for the development of the country by providing training to the youth in the country.

“For the overall development of the country, by using the knowledge, skills and abilities of the young talents scattered all over the world, for the overall development of the country, I believe that such programs will help in creating an environment that will sustain the talented manpower in the country for the proper development and sustainable use of the country,” he said. –

Minister of State Yadav said that the program conducted by the Vocational Education and Training Enhancement Project will help the youth to improve their skills and play a supportive role in the employment sector.

Chandrakant Bhusal, director of the project and deputy secretary of the Ministry of Education, said that the project is working to provide jobs in the country by producing skilled manpower in the technical field. He mentioned that the project, which was advanced with innovative thinking, aimed to provide short-term training to one hundred and fifteen thousand underprivileged, Dalit, women and disabled people living in different parts of the country between the ages of 15 and 40.

Achyut Nepal, the president of the Nepal Training and Employment Association, said that there is a need for various types of training from the local level to the central level for the development of the country. “Jobs cannot be created without training, without job creation the country will not develop, training is indispensable for the development of the country,” he said.
